Linh Truong's 4th Annual Charity Big Game at the new ASG 2015

Once again Linh hosted a wonderful event! Duh right. She raised money for "It AINT CHEMO" and the crowd couldn't be happier. Thousands in prizes were given away to players!
We missed getting everyone in this pic. But Einstein's face is priceless, he loves reach-arounds.
The new ASG in Peris, CA is open and you should go check it out. The fields themselves have tons of bunkers, boxes, pillars and places to hide and ambush people. Lots of players were mentioning that it was very flat but the nearby helicopter training pad is pretty loud so that keeps things feeling epic. There was some dust blowing around but that will be packed down as more players put work in. Be sure to check out the new field!

I got to see so many old friends this was truly a special event. I can't think of a better way to end the season than helping those in need and having a good time doing it. Hope everyone is ready for the  new year! We certainly are.

See those pants I am wearing? I have been testing out the new Giant Tactical paintball pants. I got these this past September at the Decay of Nations event, so far I really like them!

15 December 2015

Recently we (LA HITMEN) helped out with the Hollywood Sports Annual Toy-Drive and held Try-Outs at the same time. It has been over 3 years since we have held a try-outs (1,000 days+). This was the perfect time to hopefully fill some spots on key squads and rebuild our D3 squad. Sarge and Gen and I road tripped it from High Altitude Colorado (Hitmen Academy) to So Cal for this and Linh's event. We drove through a massive snow storm before hitting the beautiful coast weather. The night before the game once in So Cal we got to see my mom and step-dad and have some dinner. It was a memorable visit that many ended up seeing on Facebook. My wonderful mother posted a pic of us together, please give her pic a LIKE! - Click here to see the pic

All pics in this post from this day are courtesy of RED SILVA. Give him a LIKE on Facebook and check out his work. Stunning!
The day started with Chris Tregarthen holding a stretching session, then jogging, then it was time to gun up. Players who were there received a card to place on their goggle strap so we can keep track of stats and know who is who.
"Waka-waka" after the 1on8 Don't Be Late Drill. A Hitmen tradition is the famous 1on8 Don't Be Late Drill. Last one on the field many times has to play against 8 Hitmen. Its a brutal game where the person who is taking on the 8 cant die. They must play forward till they have killed all 8 adversaries. Moral of the story... Don't Be Late. Note* Waka wasn't even late. He was picked to provide an example of the drill. #WAKATEAMPLAYER
Some talent stepped on the field. I was happy to observe the skill sets already present in the players who were seriously dedicated to making the team. Many times players have to unlearn bad habits so when players come by and got some skills its certainly a good day.
Seriously I love those Anthrax hoodies and Apugs. The pic above is Big Paul and I talking about some drills and recruits strengths... Scratch that actually I think Big Paul was just asking me if Steel Flame's Derrick Obatake would be showing up.

The pic above is Ryan Ortega from the D3 squad keeping track of how many paintballs fly onto his mask.
"J" David Robles from the D1 / D2 WCPPL squad rocking his favorite Dye Rotar and machine gun.
Chris Tregarthen rocking his Revy and old school WGP Pump Sniper. These are still the most accurate and versatile paintball markers out there.
It is not often you get to see the original Hitmen / Hitman pump trigger kit. Chris is rocking the original design by Derrick Obatake. This functional addition has been made available by numerous different companies with their own spin on it. Many call it the "Hitman" mod. We plan to release an official LA Hitmen version in 2016.
Lone wolf player Linh Linh flew in for the weekend. She is currently developing her pump skills and representing the Hitmen family on the other side of the Rocky Mtns where no other Hitmen live.
A new recruit got a kiss on the neck from one of the Hitmen. Remember those eyes behind that mask I am sure you will see more of this one soon.

The day ended around 5:30 with everyone tired and ready to go eat. Lots of talent showed up and we know a couple spots are already getting filled. Thank you to everyone who came out! The D3 rebuild is certainly going to be fun in 2016!

REDZONE by AFPL (Almost Famous Paintball League)

Have you seen the AFPL's REDZONE? This is a central buzzer based format that has now gone international! Check out this YouTube video of a match between the LA Hitmen and GOGO13.

It draws a bit from the Penalty Box format I created about 15 years ago. This was a Paintball.com article that talks about our charity games we used to throw back then with the unique Penalty Box rules. Bea Youngs, Matty Marshall, Bud Orr and numerous Dynasty members were all involved with this format in it's infancy. This other paintball.com article goes into more depth on the charity tour and why I believe we need a central focal point in competitive paintball matches.

Looking forward to more paintball in the snow (Hitmen Academy)

Mark Garcia of the L.A. Hitmen coaching a group of players at the Hitmen Academy.
Playing paintball all day in perfect weather at 6,000 feet will certainly push you to your limits.

If the paintball and altitude don't get you the obstacle course will.
If you are interested in attending a camp or the Academy itself send us an email sonny@teamlahitmen.com

Chris Iaquinta's OLD SCHOOL BIG GAME "Classic Paintball is Back" @ SC Village

I think it was at Decay of Nations where Chris Iquinta promised me that Bud Orr would be at this game and a ton of old school players and gear would show up. He said I had to be there, so I was looking forward to the epic road trip to make this one, and boy was I glad that I did. Bud did show up and we got to hang out for a bit. I got to talk to Bryon, Rodney and Ryan and so many others that I haven't seen in forever. Numerous old school paintball players and Hitmen family played and hung out for the day. It was a bit nostalgic to see all the old school players walking around and playing in full force. I felt 16 again in some of those battles on the field. On top of that the vintage guns that Bacci and a couple others had on display were appreciated by almost everyone there. Check out the Facebook Event Page of the game for a ton of pics.
The above social media promo for the game is a really old pic that Gary Baum (www.paintballphotography.com) took during an event back in the day. I am rocking my Vertibre WGP Pump Sniper with a Greg Hasting's R7 HD Camera, and a LA Hitmen GA Air-system.
In the pic taken during the actual Old School event I am rocking one of the new but extremely rare Niche Pump Markers. This thing shot like a dream. Absolutely smooth, crisp and accurate as can be. Actually Made in the USA

Super cool atmosphere! Chris Iquinta did an excellent job and I am sure we all hope he holds more of these events. These types of games will bring past players back to the paintball field by the dozens.

The 2nd Annual Paintball Battle for Powderhorn in Colorado!

Hard to believe right? They (Western Colorado Paintball) turn part of a ski resort (Powderhorn, CO!) into a paintball game for one weekend out of the year! I missed last years and wasn't going to miss it again. Very cool to see big boys Valken and GI Sportz sponsor this event. I heard they are going to have some GI Sportz paint for the event, so that is great news.

Check out www.thebattleofpowderhorn.com and maybe we will see you there.

Supergame 2015 RoadTrip with LA Hitmen from Hitmen Academy Colorado

Our roadtrip to Supergame 48 started at the Hitmen Academy in Norwood, CO. Once we hit Salt Lake City, UT we ran into trouble though. Our driver at the time (Kat B.) did a great job not killing us and we ended up having to stay the night in UT putting us behind schedule. The van was going to be down for some hours so we killed some time and made fun of each other.
I had to take a quick pic of the team van being unloaded from the flatbed tow truck. This van has been through a lot with us! Luckly there was a Mexican restaurant near us and we posted up and watched the hours go by.
The next morning (Friday) we got back on the road we quickly forgot about the delay. Next stop Sniperz Den in St. Paul, OR for the best paintball game I have ever been to: Supergame.tv!
Once there we pretty much shot everyone who looked at us. We played from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon. I was to busy shooting people to get pics but I did snap this one of my tongue tickling Gen's head. Notice that sexy Anthrax Paintball custom jersey I am rocking? Check them out here!
Before you know it the weekend is over! Historically our team plays on the third faction Renegade side so we help balance out the game itself for game promoter Dan Bonebrake. At the awards ceremony we received a team award and we all couldn't be happier getting an award from his event. Dan was a Professional Paintball Player when I was growing up and I thought he was one the good guys to look up too. 20 years later he puts on one of the best paintball games in the world and I am lucky to be able to travel to his game annually and participate. Hats off to Dan and his entire staff to get Supergame to where it is now! I am a massive fan of this game!
At the end of the game it was time to take off way to soon. So the clothes had to come off first, yes the females were happy. ;) Mr. Greg (owner of Sniperz Den) has probably the coolest field in the North West USA and it is located in St. Paul, OR. You have to check it out and you have to come to a Supergame with us! Join us Hitmen or play against us. It doesn't matter as long as I see you on the field. Plan your year around it, simple. www.supergame.tv

Hitmen Academy: High Altitude Training with Chloe Honjiyo

Recently Chloe Honjiyo (Hitmen veteran) and I did some high altitude training together at the Academy. Chloe had this to say. "The high altitude kicks your ass so fast, this is no joke." This picture was taken right before we conducted some movement drills in the lower canyon area.
